World Co-creation Day is being celebrated every year on August 8, the birthday of late Prof C K Prahalad, who is credited with coining the word, "co-creation", and proposing a deeper level of partnership between businesses and consumers, in an article he co-authored with Prof Venkat Ramaswamy, for the Harvard Business Review, in 2000.
The first ever World Co-creation Day was organized by Forum for Co-creation Excellence (FORCE), in India at Coimbatore, the birth place of Prof Prahalad, on August 8, 2011, in association with Park Global School of Business Excellence, a business school. FORCE is a not-for profit association of professionals interested in applying the core concepts of co-creation in business, social organizations, and governments. |
